How do People move?
Muscles work together to make the different parts of our body move. Muscles only pull, they can't push. One muscle pulls a body part one way and another pulls it the other way. Muscles work in groups so we can move in all directions.
1. Working together: Muscles work with joints to move the body around. Muscles are connected to the bones by tissues called tendons.
2. Joints: Joints are the places where one bone joins another to allow you to move. Joints have fluid in them to help make movement smooth.
3. Straightening: The triceps under the arm get shorter, which pulls the lower arm down. At the same time, the biceps above it relaxes and the arm straightens.
4. Bending: the biceps at the top of the arm gets shorter. This pulls the lower arm up. At the same time the triceps below the biceps relaxes.
What happens when a person exercise?
Stronger Muscles: The body make new muscle fibers after exercise. This means muscles get bigger and stronger the more you use them.
Longer and stronger: If you exercise regularly, you will be able to do it longer. Heart and breathing muscles get stronger when you use them more. Running, swimming and cycling all the exercise the heart and lungs.
